TIBETAN LAMA TO SPEAK IN GREAT BARRINGTON

12.01.08

Club Helsinki to Host An Intimate Talk

(GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass., November 25th, 2008) Namkha Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist Rinpoche (Precious Teacher) connected to the Vajrayana teachings (Red Hat Buddhist) and a great spiritual master of Tantric Buddhism, will speak at Great Barrington's Club Helsinki on Wednesday, December 10th at 7:30 pm.

The Rinpoche is a Tibetan Buddhist and a great spiritual master of Tantric Buddhism. He works closely with his holiness the Dali Lama who has sent him on a special mission to spread the word of the Tibetan struggle for justice and the principals of Buddhism.

Rinpoche is committed to the promotion of human values such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self-discipline. A primary component of his belief is that all human beings are the same. We all want happiness and do not want suffering. The Rinpoche is committed to the promotion of religious harmony and understanding among the world's major religious traditions. Despite philosophical differences, all major world religions have the same potential to create good human beings. It is therefore important for all religious traditions to respect one another and recognize the value of each other's respective traditions.

Since his exile from tibet in 1998, Rinpoche has mainly dedicated himself to teach Westerners. He now lives in Switzerland where he has founded three dharma centres. So far, he has opened centres in Holland, Spain, Lithuania and Sweden. Efforts are underway to open a center in America as well. Rinpoche is greatly appreciated by his students for the way he tirelessly makes himself available for them and helps them realise qualities of wisdom, peace of mind and compassion through Buddhism. Rinpoche is the head of numerous humanitarian and cultural preservation projects in Tibet, India and Nepal.

Space is limited and seating will be on a first come, first serve basis. There will be a $20 suggested donation. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Humanitarian Aid and Cultural Preservation in Tibet. Club Helsinki is located at the rear 284 Main Street (The Barrington House) in Great Barrington.
